Q. How can I get a library card? Answer: Your institutional ID card serves as your library card. It is advised to always keep your institutional ID card with you and produce it when you are asked to display it. Q. Do I have to pay at the time of issuance of the item? Answer: No charges are applicable at the item of issuance. Q. What are the Library Timings? Answer: The Library timings are as follows: Main Campus City Campus Q. What is the procedure, policy, and loan period for borrowing books? Answer: For borrowing rules, procedures, and the duration of the loan period, please visit https://library.iba.edu.pk/rules_regulations.php Q. How do I login to my Library account? Answer: Please visit at https://ils.iba.edu.pk/ >>> click on the Forgot your passwordand enter your registered email (nmerchant@iba.edu.pk) OR ERP as your login to reset your password. Q. How do I search for library books and other materials owned by the IBA Libraries? Answer: Use the IBA Library Catalog to locate books and more! Simply visit https://ils.iba.edu.pk/enter a keyword, title, or author in the search box, and click Search. Q. Can I purchase a book from the library? Answer: The library does not provide individual purchasing services. Although, if you want to recommend a book for the library collection, make a purchase suggestion by logging into your library account https://ils.iba.edu.pk/ Q. Can I request an item for the library to purchase? Answer: Yes, IBA students, faculty and staff are welcome to submit purchase suggestions to the library via their library account. Q. What happens if the book borrowed is lost/damaged? Answer: In the case of book loss and damage, the patron must pay the "replacement cost". Q. What if I underline or highlight a book borrowed from the library? Answer: The item being borrowed will be inspected, both, at the time of issuance as well as return. In case you deface a library item in any way, you will be charged with the 'replacement cost' of the item or a penalty. Q. What if I accidentally take a library book outside with borrowing it? Answer: If you take a library book without borrowing it from the library, you will be charged with a penalty, and further disciplinary action can be taken against you, the least being library privileges revoked. Q. Do I need to return the books(s) to the same campus I got it issued from? Answer: NO! the books of the IBA Library can be borrowed or returned at any of the campus libraries. Q. How do I check in/return the book to the library? Answer: The book(s) can be checked in at any of the campus libraries circulation desk or at the self-check kiosk of IBA library. Q. How do I re-issue/renew the book? Answer: You can renew the item by logging into your ILS account. Depending on the item type, demand, and number of copies, it can be renewed thrice. Q. How do I place an item on hold? Answer: Browse the IBA Library catalog at https://ils.iba.edu.pk/ 1. Log into your library account <<< If you do not remember your credentials, then use the option of Forgot your password and enter your registered email (abc@khi.iba.edu.pk) to reset your password. Q. What is the fine for late materials? Answer: The overdue fine per item is 10 Rs per day.
Q. How do I access the library's online resources? Answer: You can visit the library's website to access the subscribed online resources @ https://library.iba.edu.pk/electronic_database_A-Z.php Q. Can I use the library's online resources from home? Answer: The library's online resources can be accessed via an off-campus account, for which you can visit https://library.iba.edu.pk/offcampus_access.php Q. What Library resources and services are available to the Alumni of the IBA? Answer: The IBA Alumni can access and avail all the resources of IBA Library on Campus. Q. Where do I keep my bags? Answer: You must keep your bags and gadgets with you in the library. The library will not take responsibility for your possessions. Q. Am I allowed to take phone calls in the library? Answer: No, talking on the phone is prohibited in the library. Q. Am I allowed to bring food? Answer: No edibles/drinks are allowed inside the library. Please visit the library coffee shop to eat/drink without leaving the library premises. Q. What type of spaces are available in the library? Answer: The libraries are divided into spaces for individual study (carrels), collaborative spaces (for group discussions and collaboration), Scholar Commons, and Information Commons. Q. Does IBA library offer memberships to outsiders? Answer: No, outsiders are not allowed. Q. Where do I submit suggestions or complaints? Answer: Please email us at library@iba.edu.pk if you have any suggestions, insights, or complaints regarding the library rules, procedures, or policies. For general queries, however, you can visit the circulation counter at either campus library. |
