Mr. Muhammad Anwar, Head Librarian participated in Asian
Libraries Conference held on 5-6 September 2016 in
Islamabad, organized by Pakistan Library Association in
collaboration with National Library of Pakistan & AIOU, as
invited speaker in the very first session of the conference.
Sadia Yaseen, Assistant Librarian, Research Service and
Nusrat Jabeen, Assistant Librarian, Collection Services also
attended the conference, around 600 library and information
professionals throughout the country participated in the
conference.
The library orientation session for BBA was conducted on
August 31, 2016, between 08:30 am to 09:45 am and 10:00 am
to 11:15 am course being taught by Dr. Irfan Nabi, around
105 students were facilitated.

We are pleased to inform you that to help you to prepare for
exams library operational timings are being extended during
exam week. Now Mian Abdullah Library will remain
operational from 08:30 am to 11:00 pm starting from
Monday February 22, 2016 to Saturday February 27, 2016.
Mian Abdullah Library at main campus will remain opened on
Friday October 23, 2015 (9th Muharram 1437) & Sunday October
25, 2015 (11th Muharram 1437) from 10:00 am to 06:00 pm,
Saturday 24 October (10th Muharram 1437) will be observed as
closed holiday.
The library orientation session for MS Economics was
conducted on March 28, 2015, between 10:00 am to 12:30 pm as
part of scheduled activity of ‘Research Methodology’ course
being taught by Dr. Mohammad Nishat, around 20 students were
facilitated.

introduction to the use of library systems, resources and
services along with a detailed overview about information
retrieval tools and databases specifically Business
Intelligence resources such as Euromonitor, WARC, Datastream
and so on.
The major highlight was step by step techniques of gathering
information for literature review, sources that are
available and their utilization, use of EndNote was also a
prominent feature of the session in which how to cite
literature, referencing style etc was discussed, then
formatting of the projects/thesis (approved by IBA) was
demonstrated to the participants.

The learning session with EBSCOhost team will be held with
IBA Faculty and Students in coordination with IBA Libraries

The library orientation sessions were conducted for the
students enrolled in ‘Marketing issues in Pakistan’ course
of BBA-VI; around 250 students were facilitated who got
first-hand overview of services and resources offered by the
library. The sessions were conducted in five different
sections of MIP course being taught by Ms. Farah Naz Baig,
Ms. Nida Aslam Khan, Ms. Saima Husain, and Ms. Fatima Akhund.
Highlights: The sessions comprised of an introduction
to the general use of library systems, resources and
services along with a detailed overview about information
retrieval tools and techniques.
The sessions were conducted by Ms Sadia Yaseen, Executive

students of “EMBA Batch Spring 2015”, on Saturday Jan 24,

After successfully participating in ScienceDirect's 'Quiz for Science' and getting full text access to SceinceDirect digital library for almost three months, against our participation to this program. We take another step to partner with IEEEXplore to participate in 'IEEE Quiz for Engineering and Technology'. The partnership with IEEEXplore has been reciprocated with full-text access to IEEEXplore Digital Library (huge repository of information which covers almost a third of world's electrical engineering and computer science literature) for a limited period of time starting from November 18, 2013 to February 28, 2014 throughout campus-wide network.
