IBA library pride itself on its Research Support Services, via which we provide training and specialist services to enhance research activities across the institute. The library subscribes to wide range of research-oriented content and electronic databases. We offer advice and assistance for academic publishing, literature searching, personal information management skills including referencing & citing. We also deliver special services to MS/PhD students and conduct customized sessions/trainings to ensure researchers may take maximum benefit of available resources and services.

To enhance the information literacy skills of the researchers and the faculty, library offers training and customized sessions on:

• • Understanding Literature Searching - exploring internet and electronic databases subscribed by the library, understanding basic concepts of designing search strategies to maximize the information retrieval from huge repositories of information.
• • Exploring for Research Topics - targeting research-oriented information to explore specific research interest or subject areas and to discover different formats and sources of research information by directly tapping into the invisible internet.
• • Managing Information - Citing Management & Plagiarism Awareness –Introductory sessions or workshops with hands-on training are conducted to train researchers in the use of EndNote, commonly used citation management tool by the researchers worldwide and Turnitin, utility to prevent plagiarism (it improves researchers writing cycle by preventing plagiarism).

Our Librarians offer expertise in searching and critical appraisal of the literature to ease you in your literature searching issues. The services may include:

• • help to choose the right resource(s) for a particular research - whether you are working on a short research assignment, term paper, industry analysis, or thesis /dissertation
• • help to fine-tune your search strategies by making you understand complex searching techniques
• • help in identifying materials closely related to your research topic(s)
• • supply the full text of requested article(s)
• • supply of article(s) not available with us or any other institute at local or national level
• • answer other information or research support related questions/queries

The service has been designed to supply article(s) in full text (print or electronic) that are must for any of research or teaching assignment but is/are not available within the scope of our subscriptions to the electronic and print resources or any other institute at local or national level.

Our extensive research services also encompass format evaluation and compliance of undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate research conducted across the institute. The library is responsible for the process of formatting, and referencing evaluation, binding, and submission of the research projects/theses etc.

Scholarly communication and publishing are undergoing rapid change, as scholarship is opening up many new avenues and multiple choices like publish as journal articles (open source, online, print, ISI indexed, impact factor), conference papers, books & monographs, textbooks & teaching materials, research repositories, subject repositories. Library staff by capitalizing on their expertise can help and support you in identifying quality journals in your subject of interest to expand the reach and impact of your research.
